Girgaon Katta

We miss the weekend walks at Borivali National Park. We also miss the breakfast and chat sessions after the walk!

Till a few months back, Girgaon Katta used to be our favourite breakfast joint after a morning walk at SGNP. For the uninitiated, Girgaon Katta is a Maharashtrian restaurant in Borivali, which otherwise is mostly populated by Gujarati food joints.

Whether you are in a mood for the good old simple Pohe OR a spicy misal pav, Girgaon Katta has a variety of options for you. Off late, I found their Misal very spicy and started avoiding it.

The Vada Usal too, has a spicy gravy. The Pav does help to bring down the fiery rassa. I also make it a point to have a glass of buttermilk or piyush to go with these dishes.

My personal favorites at Girgaon Katta are Kothimbir Vadi, Sabudana Vada, Batata Vada & Kanda Bhaji.

Overall, good service and a nice place to go for a lazy breakfast in an informal setting. The hot masala milk is also something that I like to have in cold weather.

Address: Girgaon Katta, Shobhana Apartment, Om Shanti Chowk, Chandavarkar Road, Borivali West, Mumbai 400 092.
